Psychologist, grief counsellor, mediator
A psychological counselling process is often like painting a picture in a figurative sense. As a facilitator, I stand next to the client, supporting her with my attention, presence, and various tools - and she gradually creates his painting by unifying her brushstrokes and use of colour. When we feel together that she has finished her work on a particular subject, we say goodbye for a while.
I help adult clients who come to me with a present and future focus to solve their issues, supporting and accompanying them on their journey in a supportive and trusting atmosphere. I use and blend the tools I use along the specific problem area:
- Self-awareness, personality development: learning about general personality functioning, focusing on "how" instead of "why", helping with self-esteem difficulties, increasing self-confidence for a balanced everyday life
- Relationship breakdowns: dealing with conflicts in family, relationships or the workplace; developing psychological communication in individual/couples counselling. Helping people to get closer to each other, strengthening positive attitudes, rebuilding trust
- Stress management: relieving psychological tension, psychological pressure by raising awareness of current stressful events, understanding our stress reactions, discussing ways of coping, practical application of stress relief techniques
- Grief and loss management: bereavement counselling and supportive presence for processing various losses, including death, divorce, break-up, job lay-off/leave, retirement, children leaving home, moving house
- Work psychology self-awareness, blockages: multi-faceted workplace personality development, helping with difficulties caused by leadership support and people management, lack of motivation, dissatisfaction, workplace boredom, burnout
- Career and career choices: narrative career counselling, exploring personality type and values related to career and career choices, understanding past socialisation patterns (family, school) that influence career choices
